"The intention behind this CD was to create music that was slow moving, contemplative, but also unique. I wanted this music to work especially well at low listening volumes, perhaps at the end of a busy work day, or in the midst of a challenging moment, or as a choice when one wants to connect more deeply with the divinity within.
The image of the sacred mountain (Nanda Devi is the second tallest mountain in India) seemed like a good fit for this music, which somehow serves as a soundtrack to one's own inner ascent, one's own inner journey, and one's own unique experiences. The musician in me wanted to use many different real instruments to play off each others voices and timbres to establish a musical dialogue that inspires the listener with its unusual ingredients.
I hope that NANDA DEVI will become a soundtrack to your life...".
